Directions for use

For ease of application please note :- As per coating instructions, one coat is equal to the thickness of a piece of paper. Four coats equals the thickness of 4 pieces of paper.

Coatings :-

  • For racing craft apply one coat thickness ever three to six months.
  • For craft that are permanently in the water but seldom used, apply a two coat thickness every six to twelve months.
  • For commercial craft and maximum strength apply a four coat thickness, this can be applied as one coat about the thickness of 4 pieces of paper.

Reapply as required, as a guide, a 4 coat thickness should last up to twelve months in use.

Coverage on a smooth surface :-

  • One coat thickness covers approximately 20 square metres.
  • Two coat thickness covers approximately 15 square meters.
  • Four coat thickness covers approximately 10 square meters.

Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul can be applied as a wax in solid form or heated to become a liquid / paste.

Applying in wax or solid form :-

  • Hulls or large surface areas - apply in wax form using a broad spreading knife.
  • Propellers - heat propeller with blow torch until hot to touch, apply with a putty knife as if buttering bread.

Applying in liquid or paste form :-

Put Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul into a standard paint tray and leave in the hot sun until it melts into a liquid paste form, use a standard paint roller (a short nap wool roller is ideal) and roll onto the surface as if painting. Use a paint brush to apply to edges and areas that are difficult to roll.

Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul can also be applied in liquid form by spray or brush.

Propellers should still be heated or at least hot from the sun prior to application and then Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul (in liquid form) should then be applied by brush to the propeller surfaces.

In colder conditions put Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul into a steel container and indirectly heat the container until the wax turns into a liquid. Do not apply any direct flame to the Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul as that may damage the product.

The best results are achieved when applied in hot sunny conditions. The vessel surface should feel warm or hot to the touch.

Re-application :-

  • Re-apply at least every 12 months
  • Simply hose down the craft to remove any slime build up and reapply as directed above.

Clean Up :-

  • For spray guns use any standard white thinners or turps.
  • For all other equipment use any standard white thinners or turps.
  • For best results and for completely removing Lanolin Gold Marine Wax Antifoul use Lanolin Gold Citrus Power Clean.
